How would I go about getting Lasik While In the USMC?

Posted on 30th November 2008 by admin in lasik

I am really looking for the united states marine corps, i ship off to bootcamp, and one of the first thing I want to get done is lasik, I don’t mind waiting up for 1 year, but How do i go about getting this done? what procedures do i need to take Step 1 - 10. please help me out if you have gotten eye surgery before while serving in the united states marine corps?
any more answers?

1. Get to the fleet, don't do it while while training or going to your school….you don't want to miss any time.
2. Go to medical, get a referral.
3. Go to hospitol, talk to them about, schedule Lasik
4. Get Lasik
5. No more "Port Holes".
6. Get laid.
7. Repeat 6 over and over and….

Edit: To the question above mine, yes, when you sign up for the Marine Corps you sign up for 4 years active, four years IRR….I've seen it happen…so yeah…theres a "chance".

What is the cost of laser eye surgery in Canada?

Posted on 30th November 2008 by admin in laser eye surgery

My husband wants to get laser eye surgery, but we want to find a good doctor… Any ideas fo who to go to, and what the cost might me? Thank you in advance…Bye^^

Why not get it done in Bankok,Thailand? Cheap and good. After that, with good vision, can take a tour around. A few good hospital caters to foreigners with good international doctors. Try the International or Bumrungrad Hospital. Can search in the website for their facilities and cost. About 10 days whole process. Need to precheck for suitability before lasik. About USD 1800 both eyes basic. Add about another 10%, package tailored to your eyes requirement. I may try the International hospital in Thailand. Still considering.

Would I be a poor candidate for LASIK surgery if I take medications that cause dry eye?

Posted on 28th November 2008 by admin in lasik

I’ve read that people who have “dry eye syndrome” shouldn’t have LASIK surgery. I don’t have that syndrome, but I do take several prescription medications daily that have tended to make my eyes dry.

You may be, and the best is to get your eyes checked up before proceeding to surgery.

Thank you.

Is laser eye surgery safe in the long run?

Posted on 28th November 2008 by admin in laser eye surgery

Most people who have it done, notice that their eyesight still gradually deteriorates slowly.

And scientists don't yet know if there are any long term side affects, as the surgery hasn't been around very long. It's difficult to know whether you would still have perfect vision when you are into your 60's.

Has there been any scientific study, to suggest that laser eye surgery may not be as safe as everyone thinks it is?

i am 51. had it done 9 years ago. vision is perfect and so far no problems. they said i MIGHT need reading glasses years down the road.
