Lasik is non reversable and cuts your cornea, I know.
But does Paragon CRT take away some of your cornea? It’s just a flattening contact, but still, does it take away any cornea when you take out the contact? And will your vision go completely back to your regular perscription when you don’t wear them anymore? Like completely back to lets say -4?
LASIK makes your cornea flatter by removing some of it. Paragon CRT makes your cornea flatter by shoving it in. No tissue is removed. Once wear is discontinued, your cornea would eventually return to its original shape. If you had fully eliminated -4.00, it would probably take months.

Hi I am a 39 year old type 1 diabetic on insulin pump in the UK, i had laser treatment to my left eye, right eye removed back in 2000 after the surgery i lost my driving licence due to visual field loss, at present i have stable diabetic eye disease (retinopathy) good sight in left eye but i am fighting to get my driving licence back, i am able to read a number plate and i do have visual field of 120 deg on the horizon.I have sort into hundreds of sites for help but i feel i am on my own with no support, if i lived in America there are organisations helping people like my situation, but nothing in the united kingdom. Will never give up on getting my licence back, i drove for 5 years with one eye without any incidents, i am very willing to take any courses or assesments for safe driving but how can i without a driving licence, i did hold a full uk class 1 driving licence.Any advice or support greatly appreciated thanks Shaun
The procedure is that you apply for the licence back and they ask for medical details. There are set standards for monocular vision that are acceptable.
One is that the working eye basically has to be perfect and it seems yours is not.
This has nothing to do wiith pressure groups being or not being available to help - if you cannot meet the standard set then no amount of groups will help you.
Why is it that when anything out of the ordinary occurs all of a sudden people start to look for "Support"? The people of this country need to get themselves together and be more self reliant.
Obviously you will also be aware that you cannot hold a bus or lorry licence with monocularity under any circumstances at all.

Ok, so the course in the uk is three years. After, if you want to go back to university and do your masters in optometry..what could you gain out of that masters? Like, could you carry out lasik? I’m confused..and how long does the masters take? Thanks, i’m thinking of doing optometry you see
No, you can do masters degree in anything e.g contact lenses, refractive surgery etc, what is meant by refractive surgery is knowing what happens in refractive surgery, studying how the cornea reacts to lasik etc, but know not actually carry one out that is for Ophthalmologists,
Good luck
