My eye’s are really beginning to bother me…I was prescribed glasses around 2 years ago now due to short sightedness, basically I can’t focus properly on distant objects, causing me to feel very tired and sometimes have very blurred vision if focusing into the distance..
Now admittedly I never really took to wearing the glasses full time and hardly ever feel comfortable wearing them. I was thinking about getting contact lenses as I realise how much it is now effecting my life, when a friend recommended to look into having ‘the zap’ as in the long run it will be a lot more better not having to get used to wearing and the pricing of constantlyy buying lenses..
Just wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere plus give a rough price on how much it is?…plus im actually from the UK originally, and could get it done over there so was wondering would it be any cheaper?
Any advice what so ever would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!
Highly recommended is LASIK . The eye institute in Auckland, it is the best clinic in NZ and always has recent technology and an advanced laser. They have all the usual payment plans. Ask around about their reputation.

I already know that there is nothing that can be done for my nystagmus at this time, which really kinda sucks. However I wanted to look at getting my numerous other eye problems fixed if anything to alleviate some of the difficulties, so I only have to deal with the nystagmus.
The other eye problems I have are photophobia, myopia and occular albenism (the cause of the nystagmus no doubt)
I know of those the only one laser surgery could fix is the myopia. I’m really just hoping for a difference, any tiny difference woudl be good.
So yeah, if anyone knows of anywhere in the UK which would do it, please feel free to lemme know.
Try contacting the London Vision Clinic.
On their FAQ page, they said laser eye surgery can be performed if you have nystagmus. As they note, it may not treat the condition but will lessen the symptoms.
Here is the Contact US link for the Clinic: http://www.londonvisionclinic.com/contact-us
Good luck!

With companies advertising from £395 per eye, I’m interested in how much it has cost people recently with different prescriptions: my worst eye is -8.50 with 1.75 astigmatism, so I’m imagining it will cost me a lot…

I am 12 and I have had glasses since I was about 6 or 7. People say I look better without glasses and I think so too. I can’t get laser eye surgery, I’m way too young. I’m in the UK so I have to be over 20! to get laser eye surgery. I have read other answers to questions similar to this, and a girl said I can get contacts at the age of 12. I am in the UK and I can not have contacts till I am 16. Actually, I’m not to sure. My eye doctor thing that I go to is Specsaveres, and I am NOT moving. I love Specsavers, I have been going to them since I was 6/7. I’m not sure what glasses number I am. I need to find out. I really want to get rid of my stupid glasses. No links to any websites please, or no-one saying its not possible, because there has to be away I could get rid of them. Maybe some techniques or exercises maybe? Please help anyone. All answers appreciated
You do not have to wait until you are 16 to get contacts. My daughter had contacts at the age of 4 weeks old, she wore them until she was 8months old and got wriggly then had glasses. She’s 13years old now and just starting to think about going back into contacts. One of her friends has had contacts since she was 11, you can have contacts at any age and I’m in the UK.
Specsavers should be able to help you with contacts, if they can’t then they should be able to put you in touch with someone who can, if they can’t do either then their not doing their jobs properly.
But to be honest putting contact lense’s into a 12 year old is no different to putting them into an adult, your eyes are all the same size, your eyes are full size when your born so it makes no difference.
But you can have contacts at any age, my daughter is living proof of that and if anyone tells you otherwise their lying.

I have -6.25 in my left and -7.00 in my right and im nearly 17. I want my eyes corrected whenever they settle down.. (hopefully when I’m 20).. i hate bad eye sight and i would really like it in the future.
I have hear about about Laser surgery, and implantable lenses and others.. which one would be the best or most ideal and what are the advantages..
P.S I live in the UK
depends on your cornea more than on your Rx:
plenty of corneal thickness: probably lasik
little bit thin cornea: probably PRK
abnormally thin cornea: probably phakic IOL ("Implantable" lenses)
