Can i get compensation for this? PLEASE?
i use daily disposable contact lenses, i ran out and went to my opticians to buy another box, they checked my details and they gave me the box. a week later it was time for my contact lense check. they noticed they gave me the wrong prescription contact lenses. they gave me -5 instead of -3.5. and they said that my sight had gone from a -3.5 to a -4 (because i was wearing contacts too strong for my eyes) and that my eyes were dryer than usuall so they gave me better contact lenses for dryer eyes (at no extra cost).
so the way i see it. through thier careless mistake my sight has gotten worse and my eyes dryed out. my eyes should lose the dryness if i dont wear contacts for a few days but my sight will never get back to -3.5 (unless i spend £395 an eye for laser surgery). and online it costs more money for glasses the worse your eyesight is. i am fourteen and live inn the UK so i was wondering if i could get compensation for thier mistake and around how much?
awh well. at least i get better contacts free i guess.
Wearing the wrong contact prescription would have made your vision blurry, but it would not damage your eyes.

Your eyesight doesn’t change that much in a week for wearing the wrong strength contact. However, it’s not unusual for for your eyesight to change over longer periods of time.

Nope. Wearing the wrong contacts for a week (which you did not even notice were wrong) will not cause your eyes to get worse like that nor would it cause your eyes to be dryer than normal.

So according to your theory ……… had no one noticed you were using the wrong prescription , you`d be totally , irreversibly blind in just a few short weeks !
It`s MUCH more likely you eyesight was deteriorating long before this incident and it was caught when they found the wrong prescription .
