Lies -Tragedy of Botched Cosmetic Surgery-
Dr. Barry Eppley ’s “educational” videos on You Tube are a travesty.
Massive swelling after a nose job done only 8 weeks after a facelift permanently damaged all soft tissue undermined in the face/neck lift, leaving my face a lax, hanging sack of flesh, stretched and detached from the underlying muscles. The rhinoplasty, supervised by Dr. Joel Feldman at MGH in Boston, was done too soon.. Every plastic surgeon knows it takes SEVERAL MONTHS to ONE YEAR for a facelift to heal, yet I was told it was safe to have a nose job 8 weeks after my facelift. Both were done at MGH. 1 year after the nose job (14 mo. after facelift) my face and neck have aged 20 years.. Yet the doctors at MGH, including Dr. Joel Feldman, denied this. 10 years later Dr. Feldman is still denying the reality of this damage. From the frying pan into the fire, in April 2001 I underwent a revision facelift by Dr. Barry Eppley, a plastic surgeon in Indianapolis (Eppley Plastic
Surgery) who claimed he understood the problem and could fix it. After reviewing my own extensive research on facial cosmetic surgery and his agreement to perform my surgery in the manner we agreed, he betrayed every premise upon which I based my consent to surgery. Dr. Barry Eppley blatantly neglected some basic rules of surgery, leaving me unable to lift my head, close my jaw, breathe or swallow normally since the day he operated on me. Left uncorrected I am literally being left to die, unable to breathe or walk across a room upright. I am being left to aspirate my own saliva..disabled to the point that my entire life has been reduced to sitting in one place, every muscle in my body straining for every breath. There is nothing left to support the internal structures in my throat and neck.. It is impossible to breathe this way. I find it more than extraordinary that the surgeons I consulted for this have turned a blind eye to something so obvisously disabling and life threatening.

NO, she did not …
NO, she did not know the risk. I got a blotched surgery. I didn’t know about blotched cosmetic work. There was no internet in the early 90’s for the public to use or get informatin like this from. So, don’t assume and blame the victim.

Brava for the very …
Brava for the very brave, very generous woman who had the courage to put this enormously painful post on youtube. She is an extraordinary woman, trying to prevent others from suffering as she did, and I hope she gets every penny she deserves from the men who did this to her. Elise

So, you see a starving cat, a caged dog, you have sympathy and feeling, you see a fellow human in excruciating agony and there is no pity in your soul. If you think you are a good person, think on….

So you have all of …
So you have all of these qualities, yet no mercy for your fellow man, no empathy for a woman who you can see suffering extremely. Do you think spouting off about animals makes you a good person, how do you know what this lady does or did to help others?
Comment by mrslovesit — May 5, 2009 @ 3:56 am
So you think …
So you think celebrities dont give to charity? What has that got to do with this lady ? Nothing at all, she is in a living hell, give her the respect you give those animals, and before you say its her own fault, no, its her doctors fault. You want to talk about souls, youve got none for your fellow man, maybe you should look at yourself and see whats inside.

So Cher has no soul …
So Cher has no soul, Madonna has no soul, all of Hollywood has no soul, stop talking out of your arse, this woman just wanted to look younger, nothing to do with her sould, or dogs starving, how do you know this lady does not give to charity? Most celebrities give to charity, a lot more than we earn, and guess what, yes, they all have cosmetic surgery, you have no right to condemn this lady, be as kind to her as you are to those starving dogs why dont you.

Whatever your views …
Whatever your views on cosmetic surgery, this lady is a victim of careless surgery, and neglact on the part of her surgeon, and as such should be compensated and have her surgery corrected by a more competent surgeon, at the expense of Barry Eppley. Whatever your opinions on cosmetic surgery, no one has the right to get away with doing this to another human being. It is not her fault at all, and some of you havent yet reached an age where you want to look younger, so button it!

no…i see the …
no…i see the problem you have a little skin on your face and not enough fat alot of these people are under fatty cells causing htier skin to sink it after the surgery, not to mention swelling is common and part of the recovery, nah the surgery was a success it was how your face strcuture is that caused the skin to get to leathery looking.

For whatever reason …
For whatever reason, however you feel about plastic surgery, if a person goes to a doctor for an operation, they are entitled to come out from that operation with benefit from that procedure, they should not come out from it and have to face the rest of their life in agony. This surgeon should pay another surgeon to rectify this ladys problems, and should compensate her for her years of agony.
Comment by mrslovesit — May 5, 2009 @ 3:56 am
Surgeon and patient …
Surgeon and patient both to blame, so if an appendix op goes wrong what do you say then, yes but that was neccessary??? A person in this day and age is entitled to choose surgery if they feel it will make them feel better about themselves, they are alo entitled to have recompense and free corrective surgery if that doctor botches the operation. Lis lady is entitled to compensation, and this doctor needs striking off so that other women are safe from him.

Some people are …
Some people are very arrogant, and say stay as you are, etc etc, you know the consequences, they are usually under 30, plastic surgery is an accepted for of beauty therapy, its main problem is its cost. Any woman around 50 would like to look younger, how can any of you condemn this lady for that, do you watch Madonna, Cher, any of the media stars, and condemn them, they have all had plastic, this lady is very unfortunate, her doctor bungled her surgery, and this Doctor should be held responsible

I wish you all the best and hope you will find someone very competent to help you repair the damange. No I don’t think you are vain because as previously mentioned people would never judge you if you died your hair or strainghtened your teeth. But with cosmetic surgery they have a tendancy to and I am not too sure why.

The sad thing is, you were probably perfectly normal before all this…when trying to feel ‘more beautiful’, work on the inside first. The outside won’t matter after that.
