Hi, I'm 15 and have -5.00 in my right eye and -5.75 in my left. Obviously my myopia is still progressing and I envisage my rx ending up somewhere around -9.00 or -10.00, which wouldn't be a problem to me actually. I've read about laser and stuff but I find it kind of scary to think of my eyes being invaded by something I'm not entirely convinced about. Sometimes the treatmant can go wrong and then what? If you are very self-conscious about wearing glasses all the time, why not consider contacts?? That's the route I'm thinking of going down once my eyes settle down, although at the moment, I somtimes wonder if they ever will!!
References :
depends on your cornea more than on your Rx:

plenty of corneal thickness: probably lasik

little bit thin cornea: probably PRK

abnormally thin cornea: probably phakic IOL ("Implantable" lenses)
References :
optometrist
