It really isn't specific age so much, what is important is that your vision has undergone all the changing it is going to do. This is because they don't have a way to calculate how bad your vision will become in advance, they can only correct the amount of refractive error that is manifest at the time they do the operation. Typically, a persons eyes will still change until their early 20's, for some people, it never really stops changing. If you have the procedure done too early, your vision may continue to get worse afterwards and you wind up having to get glasses again which means you have completely wasted your money for the procedure. I believe they can re-do your eyes if your vision changes again but who wants to have to go through the procedure twice if it isn't necessary.
References :
I think you should wait because there will be more changes in your eye sight since you're still growing or maybe ask your doctor if it's alright for you to have it now. I found this link, check it out: http://www.lasereyesurgery-uk.com/laser-eye-surgery-uk/how-old-do-you-have-to-be-to-get-laser-eye-surgery
References :
18, but no doctor in their right mind would do it on someone under the age of 21.
References :
A friend of mine had it done at 18. She is now 26 and back in glasses, because her eyes weren't ready to have it done.
