They are not good for those who are severely nearsighted. It causes more problems than is solves. What's wrong with contact lenses or glasses? The only other alternative is an intra-ocular lense implant. They used to only be done for cataract surgery but, now they are doing them for nearsighted people. I had both eyes done last year for cataracts.
