'Moral vacuum filled by Islam'
A DECLINE in Christian values is destroying Britishness and has created a moral vacuum that is being filled by radical Islam, a leading Church of England bishop warned this week.
The Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, Pakistani-born Bishop of Rochester, said a social and sexual revolution which began in the 1960s has led to a "catastrophic" decline in the influence of Christianity in British society which church leaders have failed to halt.
He said Britain was now gripped by the doctrine of "endless self-indulgence" which is leading to the destruction of family life, rising levels of drug abuse and drunkenness and violence on the streets.
