Every LASIK …
Every LASIK procedure is a FAILURE!! It leaves the victim with permanent corneal nerve damage, dry eye syndrome, and a fingerprint of a lasr blast. What happens to the victim in 5 years when they’re eyes change and they can NOT wear contact lenses anymore since they had LASIK and have dry eye with no cure and wetting drops that don’t work? Creating a permanent flap, that never heals, just can not be safe…look at other options like Ortho K, Soft Contacts, Glasses…even PRK surface treatment

I have several friends who have succesfully had laser eye procedures done. Not sure if lasik or other procedure. They key is not to go to some $350 an eye hack specialist but to a good Dr. that knows what he/she is doing.

No, dingbat. A GOOD doctor has a procedure that he follows to a “T” to get the procedure done. My eyes endured the process more than FIVE years ago, and there aren’t ANY issues. This was due to me going to a VERY reputable doctor.

FDA reportsa 95.4% Success Rates was defined by the corrupt LASIK industry and NOT by the consumer/patient? If there is a failure rate of 5%. That equates to 600,000 Americans ruined (and their families) from LASIK, which would mean this is now an EPIDEMIC! If you lose an arm, a limb, or a breast or get an infection from Liposuction, you can somewhat still function. Losing your eyesight, loss of career, and a family arises in LOSS OF ONE’s soul and life. Suicides result because of LASIK.

There are risks with any procedure. Liposuction for instance has a high risk of infection that could be fatal, yet it is the most common proceedure out there. Breast implants are just as common with potentionaly fatal results. Why are you fixated on Lasik?

But, what if, a patient takes the LAW into their own hands, now ruined and suicidal feeling there is nothing to live for? Doesn’t this create an “x” factor for the Lying LASIK Doctors to think about? Does safety now come before money for once? Only time will tell. Basically, the Lying LASIK Doctors have lied in order to save a lawsuit, while pushing the patient past the Statute of Limitations to sue them which is about 2 years usually, all while ruining his patient’s eyesight and life.

fycouple, well, my Mom is a Medical Technologist, and after seeing all these YouTube Lasik Horror stories, I was very concerned post-op. She went to the hospital and has talked to everyone there concerned with eye-surgery. Come to find out these occurrences or aberrations are extremely rare in the vision of LASIK patients post-op. She even talked to the guy who INVENTED the Excimer laser. All in all, they all gave a thumbs up to LASIK - especially today in 2008. 15 years ago? No way.

Please educate yourself on the difference between PRK and LASIK. LASIK creates a permanent FLAP that NEVER heals and leaves the cornea scarred for life, while PRK is a surface laser ablation to reshape the cornea. Had I known what I now know, I would have never had LASIK or PRK, and stuck it out with Extreme H2o contacts. The FDA called an emergency meeting last month: Youtube: FDA LASIK and listen to the horror stories. About 1,000,000 Americans have had their lives ruined from LASIK!!

Sure! The procedure may last for ten minutes and cost you on the order of $3K, but if you had a REALLY good doctor, the visit to get your eyes fixed was NOT the first time you sat in one of his/her chairs! Come on, people! Lasik is GREAT! My corneas were too thin for the doctor to utilize pure lasik so he had to PRK me. This is an “older” version of lasik, and the recovery took longer. This happened five years ago, and my eyes are great! There is nothing wrong with lasik!

I had Lasik eye surgery in March of 2006 and love being free of glasses and contacts. I had no problems what so ever! Sorry there are so many stories out there where people have been badly effected.

LASIK may be more advanced with software updates but it is still unpredictable. Creating a life long FLAP that NEVER heals is being sold like buying bubble gum. Idiot patients are trusting sales doctors, Lying LASIK doctors, to slash the eye with a flap causing permanent damages, accelerating the aging process of the eye, some are going blind, many are ruined for life and dumped out on the curb by the doctor they trusted, and left without no cure. If 10,000,000 …
If 10,000,000 Americans have had LASIk and the FDA says there is a 5% dissatisfaction rate, that equates to 500,000 Americans being hurt. A much higher number than the 142 currently being reported. See what I mean about the Lies? I think the true number of eyes hurt is more like 25% of all eyes over a 10 year period. Remember, the FLAP never heals. The bottom line, is before you decide on Lasik, check PRK, ORTHO K, and/or stick with NOT creating a PERMANENT FLAP THAT NEVER HEALS AND IS PLAGUED WITH PROBLEMS FOR ETERNITY. the news but I havent seen anything about the common lasik side effects on the news. There should be more media coverage on this and there are news channels that you can call or email to request it or suggest a video for them to comment on.
